Great Cockcrow Railway Data 2025

The locomotive and train data is taken from the train register kept at Hardwick.
Passenger data is taken from the ticket office computer.
This data counts a ticket sold as a passenger. Those attending Birthday Parties don't buy tickets nor do members and their friends when they ride. Thus the loading of the trains shown here is an underestimate. Nevertheless, comparisons between years are valid. Similarly, the information about the activity of each locomotive is likely to be an underestimate. No record is made if the Hardwick computer is not in use. If the computer is in use and the locomotive departs on a non standard journey we record a guess distance of threequarters of a mile for the journey, probably less than the actual distance covered.

The Hardwick computer has been in use since 2008 but the Ticket Office record only began in 2012. Both programs have been developed to yield a little more information as time went on.

The source data is kept by David Grant. Please let him know of any errors.
