Sadly, this year saw the deaths of Kim Richardson and Chris Bishop. Both founding members of the GCR who will be much missed.
On a positive note we had the busiest Halloween ever. So busy that cars were queuing back as far as the farm shop and, with a full car park, we had to request that customers come back later.
On September 1st there was a complete electrical power failure. We successfully ran a service, dividing the route into blocks and using radio to communicate each block clear.
A new website for the railway was launched this year.
The cutting Cockcrow Hill was tapered and anti rabbit features added.
Three new point machines with a new design replaced old machines at Cockcrow Hill
Mice in location cases continued to be a problem.
Hardwick Box was once again flooded on several occasions - it is proposed to lift the frame a few inches and install an automatic pump.
Several signalling cables failed; fortunately spare cores were available to keep us going but some replacement is envisaged next year.
The data shows we usually had sufficient or more than sufficient locomotives. More small locomotives were used and on some days three coach trains were the norm.
