The data shows a slight decline in passengers numbers. Since there is usually an adequate number of locomotives a positive consequence is that customers rarely have a long wait in the queue. However the corresponding decline in revenue must be a concern. There is a small but consistent reduction in the proportion of child tickets sold. The percentage of double rides sold shows no trend.
We continue to sell most tickets early in the day. Passengers arriving after 3pm will find a shorter queue.
Only one day in 2025 was lost to rain with less than 100 passengers.
Midsummer saw a heat wave that made any outdoor activity very uncomfortable and so will have reduced passenger numbers.
The special days associated with Rail 200, the Gala and the two Halloween openings saw significantly larger than average passenger numbers.
