Great Cockcrow Railway Data 2023

ES Frame

General
Our second 'Normal' year after Covid. The year was largely fine and dry but there were days with relatively few passengers. We ran on fewer Sundays than in 2022. Halloween was postponed to the Sunday when the Saturday forecast was wet.

There were usually plenty of engines : the engineering team have been efficient. This year the Hardwick register was only kept on days we opened to the public. Thus loco running on other days is not recorded.

S & T
Mice invaded a location case, eating the wire insulation; a few relays failed (they are second hand) and there are issues with our elderly miniature lever frames - we need to be gentle with them.

Looking at the long term passenger data, we are attracting slightly fewer passengers and therefore receiving slightly less revenue. On the plus side, we seem to keep the passenger wait shorter. A chart of ticket sales and time for the year is included. The chart evens things out and there were days with late peak sales.
