There was a slight fall in the number of locomotives running at least once a month.
Graph of number of locos running once per month
A significant change this year has been the large proportion of service trains hauled by non steam locomotives : about 25% this year. In 2013 the proportion was 7%.
A significant proportion of the locomotives lodged at the railway continue not to run.

Service trains
There was a slight fall in the number of service trains.
Graph of Total Service Trains by Year
Halloween cancelled and the 4 very wet days may account for this year's drop although we opened, and took cash, on Bank Holiday Monday May 27th - a "one off" event.
Before 2012 the definition of a 'service' train was loose, probably exaggerating the number of service trains shown in the graph for these earlier years.

Passenger Journeys
Nigel began recording passenger journeys in 2009 using the numbers on the tickets. Since 2013 the record has been maintained by the computer in the ticket office. The higher passenger numbers in the early years may not be accurate.
Given the larger number of wet days and Halloween being cancelled due to rain, passenger numbers held up well. There were no official Gladesman trains this year.

Customers
The average number of customers each time we opened in 2019 was 211 - slightly less than the average over earlier years of 230. Some 43% of customers were children.
On everage, the proportion of customers taking a double ride was 72% but there was significant variation on different days.
Graph of Percentage of Customers buying a Rouble Ride by Date in 2019
The chart does not include wet days when customers were brave to ride at all. It has been suggested that the variation depends on the enthusiasm with with our Booking Clerks promote taking a double journey.

Children's Parties
Steady numbers, between 15 and 20 each year.
